Cylinder Head 

• Material: Aluminum alloy or Cast iron

• Type: Overhead Valve (OHV) or Overhead Camshaft (OHC “ SOHC/DOHC)

• Valves per Cylinder: Typically 2 to 4

• Combustion Chamber: Integrated into the head

• Cooling System: Water-cooled (internal coolant passages)

• Fuel System: Port Injection or Direct Injection compatible

• Spark Plug Mounting: Threaded ports (Gasoline engines)

• Camshaft Support: Internal or external camshaft (in OHC designs)

• Valve Actuation: Rocker arms or cam-on-valve

• Mounting: Bolted to engine block via head bolts with head gasket
